We have a long history of fighting for equitable education within an oppressive system, and it's time to stop!
Enrollment in CPS is plummeting by the thousands, and chronic absenteeism is on the rise. In addition, the pandemic has exposed and exacerbated an already-declining, disproportionately large education gap for Black students and the teaching of controversial topics (PA 102-0522) such as gender identity, sexual intercourse, masturbation, abortion, and racial divisiveness without parental consent has led to a significant increase in the number of Black families opting for alternatives to public education, with homeschooling being on the rise at 16%.
Furthermore, eighth-grade students are legally required to learn LGBT History before graduating, yet public schools still struggle to provide students with a comprehensive Black History education.
It's time to reimagine education and get them out!
