Why We Need Godly Candidates—Now More Than Ever

Kingdom over Culture!
As another election season approaches, political ads will flood our screens, debates will fill the airwaves, and campaign signs will line the streets. But in the midst of all the political noise, we as believers must ask a far more important question:
Where are the God-fearing leaders?
Because let’s be honest, good candidates are not enough. Competence without conviction will crumble. Charisma without character cannot withstand the spiritual and cultural warfare raging in our land. What we desperately need are God-rooted, Bible-believing, Spirit-led candidates who understand that government was not man’s invention—it was God’s idea.
Romans 13:1 reminds us, “There is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
Whether people believe it, accept it, or reject it, God is the One who ordained government, and He expects leaders to govern righteously and uphold justice.
Today, ever-increasing darkness is being legislated into policy. We dare not stay silent.
We are seeing demonic ideologies disguised as progress. We are watching children indoctrinated in government schools with gender confusion, perversion, and anti-Christ worldviews.
We are witnessing the moral unraveling of our society, and yet some still say, This isn’t a spiritual issue. Or that church has nothing to do with government, or that we have to keep God out of government, or Christ, to be frank. Some also claim that church and government are separate because they believe that law is neutral. Or is it that some are just too afraid, unskillful in the Word of Righteousness, to walk in the authority of God in the corridors of government?
Whatever the reason is, we must hold the government accountable. And by the way, we don't care if they (government, nay-sayers, unbelievers, etc.) receive it, like it, or agree with it; it does not make the Word of God of no effect.
We stand like Apostle Peter,
"We must obey God rather than man." (Acts 5:29)
How can it not be?
To speak against wickedness is now labeled as “hate.” To affirm God’s truth is considered “dangerous.” And if you call gender ideology, abortion, occultism, or Marxist indoctrination evil, you’re “intolerant.” But let me be clear: silence in the face of evil is not compassion; it’s compromise.
"God is never calling His servants to the public square, only to have them deny Him upon arrival. What? Never!"
This is not just politics—this is a spiritual war. The battleground is public policy, and God has a Word of deliverance for every generation and every dispensation of time.
That’s why my upcoming podcast episode, “Biblical Proactive Posture for Civic Leaders,” is so important. I’ll be sharing how Christian leaders—whether candidates or already in office—must operate with:
Discernment like the sons of Issachar (1 Chronicles 12:32)
Boldness like Deborah
Truth like Daniel
Wisdom like Joseph
Courage like Esther
We are not chasing political platforms—we’re answering a Kingdom mandate.
As John Quincy Adams once said,
“Duty is ours; results are God’s.”
Whether you’re running for office, working behind the scenes, or simply praying for righteous leaders, your role matters in this spiritual war.
Stay tuned. The Be Louder From the Bottom Up Podcast is launching a powerful series just for you. Because when the righteous lead, the people rejoice (Proverbs 29:2)—and we’ve got a nation that desperately needs joy again.
Blessings,
Latasha H. Fields
