On September 13, 2025, I delivered this urgent message to a group of Illinois homeschoolers at the "Not on My Watch event in Winfield, IL." While I am grateful for the leadership that hosted this event and for the opportunity to speak, please note that the views expressed in this speech are my own. I encouraged the attendees with a speech I gave a few months ago, "Who Do Our Children Belong To?" and started by honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk. This is more than a cultural fight. More than a political fight. This is a spiritual battle for the souls of our children. In a time when legislators are targeting parental rights, advancing destructive policies, and aligning with groups that label parents as “extremists,” we must stand boldly and declare: Our children belong to God. I spoke on: The tragic murder of Charlie Kirk and the testimony of his legacy The spiritual war for our children’s hearts and minds Hypocrisy with a few of Illinois' lawmakers who claim to protect homeschoolers while destroying public school children, and anyone who supports and enables this kind of deceit The dangers of HB 2827 and the broader attack on parental autonomy The biblical mandate for parents to disciple, protect, and lead their families A call for courage, conviction, and repentance—because the fight is not for the faint of heart This is not the time for lukewarm strategies or compromise.
